Don't be fooled by the bright colors and child appeal, these puzzles will get you thinking, and they advance from beginner level to advanced. Each game has a goal that you have to fulfill, for instance, "get all the balls in the basket." And also, don't think you can bypass the tutorial to get to the harder puzzles, the tutorial appears to be a must.Īfter you've completed the tutorial, then you go onto the harder puzzles. In this tutorial, you are introduced to everything that is used in the game, from lasers which set off electrical appliances to anti-gravity force fields that cause balls to float and balloons to sink. If you want to go into puzzle play, you begin by going through a rather long tutorial. Everyone's seen cartoons in which you pull a string and it sets off a chain of events: pull a string, turns on a light, light bulbs boils water. The Incredible Machine is a very classic inventive puzzle game. These can either be for fun, or you can set it so that the person playing has to fill in the missing parts, just like in the campaign. The game also comes with an editor to let you design your own unique machines from scratch. The game features many wacky machine parts, including cats, super balls, lava lamps, flashlights, can openers, monkeys on treadmills, and many more wacky parts to get your machine working. The only problem is, there are parts missing, and it is your job to figure out where to put what in order to get the machine to work. Each level of the game contains a machine designed to do a specific task. It's really really rewarding when you get everything to work and your puzzle operates, especially on the more difficult ones.This game involves puzzle solving, while creating wacky machines. What it will not do, is tell you exactly how to place the puzzle piece. There is a hint feature though, that will offer up tips if you are getting stuck. With a working example, you can quickly see what pieces you need to make it work.Įventually though, the tutorial section ends, and you are on your own. On one side of the screen will be a functioning puzzle with the same pieces, and on the other side will be your puzzle with missing pieces. The game has a built-in tutorial that shows you how things work, as you immediately start on the first puzzle. When you get something to work, it's usually with a lot of motion and racket.
